Founded by brothers Nugzar and Mamuka Chkheidze in 2008, SIMONICA is a family-owned winery located in Imereti, Western Georgia, in the village of II OBCHA.
Nini Chkheidze is the third generation in her family to continue the tradition of winemaking.
With over ten years of professional experience in marketing, Nini joined the family winery after completing her MBA at the Grenoble Ecole de Management. She holds WSET Level 3 in Wines and has completed her studies in viticulture and oenology at the Agricultural University of Georgia.
SIMONICA’s mission is to preserve and reinterpret Georgia’s ancient winemaking traditions while sharing authentic Georgian wines with the world.
All vineyards are farmed organically, with a strong commitment to sustainability and respect for nature.
SIMONICA produces white, rose, red and naturally sparkling wines from indigenous Imeretian and Megrelian grape varieties, grown in the winery’s own vineyards.
In Obcha the company cultivates TSITSKA, TSOLIKOURI, KRAKHUNA and OTKSKHANURI SAPERE across 2 hectares. In Samegrelo – indigenous Megrelian varieties including MEGRULI OJALESHI, along with rare local grapes such as EGUDZGURI and CHVITILURI are cultivated.
SIMONICA’s winemaking vision is to honor and continue ancient Georgian traditions by producing high-quality natural wines Qvevri.
SIMONICA is a member of the Natural Wine Association of Georgia since 2017.
