Nestled in a spectacular microclimate, Akhmeta benefits from three rivers—Ilto, Alazani, and Orvili—creating the perfect conditions for healthy, vibrant grapes. Our vineyards flourish at 500-550 meters above sea level, rooted in a fascinating blend of limestone, marl, and volcanic soils. Once part of PDO Kakheti, Akhmeta now shines with its very own PDO status, proudly recognized as PDO Akhmeta. Our vines tell a story of tradition and dedication: 🍇 30-year-old Rkatsiteli thrives in the Sabero terroir along the Orvili River’s south-east bank. 🍇 Kakhetian Mtsvane flourishes between the Alazani and Orvili rivers. 🍇 Kisi, Khihvi, Saperavi & Kakhuri Mtsvivani, planted 7 years ago in Alaverdi Monastery Terroir, now yield extraordinary fruit.
