Tedos Marani

Tedo Gzirishvili has been practicing viticulture and winemaking since 1985. In his own family cellar, Tedo produces Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, and Mtsvane Kakhuri wines from grapes harvested from organic vineyards. Wines are produced in the traditional method - in kvevri - as well as using European technology, in stainless steel tanks.

Saperavi:

Tedo’s Marani’s natural wine is produced using grapes from organically-tended vineyards in the “Khalajebi” fields on the right bank of the Iori river, in Sagarejo Municipality, Kakheti. This wine is made with the Saperavi grape variety, spontaneously fermented in the traditional Kakhetian method - in kvevri. The wine is deep ruby in color, with transparent rays. The aroma expresses notes of red berries, raspberry, currants, and blackberry. This high-acidity and lively wine is best paired with game, steak, or beans. Produced in limited quantity, only 500 bottles. The wine is unprocessed.
